You can still participate in the final days of the United Way campaign

The United Way campaign is coming to a close! UAF's participation in the United Way campaign is critically important to our neighbors in the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community. As one of the largest employers in the area, UAF staff have traditionally been one of the largest groups of donors during the campaign.

You should have received a pledge form — if you haven't, please contact Lael Oldmixon at 474-6679.

Here's what you can do to help:

  • Emphasize to the employees in your department the importance of their donation to the United Way and to the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community.

  • Payroll deduction is an option and makes donating much easier. Staff can simply fill out the pledge form and return it to Human Relations via the PPA in your department.

  • Encourage your colleagues to attend the Chili Cook Off! Tickets are $5 for 5 tastings and $10 for 12 tastings. All proceeds will go to the United Way.

The Chili Cook Off will take place from noon - 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the Wood Center. Pledge forms will be available during the Cook Off.

The most important thing you can do is to encourage 100% participation among your colleagues. It's not important how much is contributed, just that a contribution is made. Whatever amount is contributed will make a huge difference to a community member in need.

To request a presentation about the United Way during your next staff meeting, please contact Lael Oldmixon, lmoldmixon@alaska.edu or Mark Oldmixon, mtoldmixon@alaska.edu.
