UAF to host forest festival

The 17th annual Farthest North Forest Sports Festival will bring out the woodsmen in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Individuals and teams compete in ax throwing, log rolling, campfire building and more lumberjack-style activities in this free event hosted by the University of Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. The competition begins at 10 a.m. at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Experiment Farm and moves to Ballaine Lake on Farmers Loop at about 1 p.m.
