The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø campus will look a little more Elizabethan this summer.

For the first time, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Shakespeare Theatre will hold its summer drama camps on campus. For three weeks in June, the Gruening Building and the Fine Arts Complex will resound with the sounds of 8-18 year-olds finding their feet on the stage as they learn about acting, movement, improvisation and performance.

"FST's summer camps are a terrific chance for kids to discover the magic of theater," said Rebecca George, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Shakespeare Theatre's managing director. "It's a fun and supportive environment, and there are opportunities for everyone to participate, whether they're a scene-stealer or the shyest person in the room."

The camps are separated into "Groundlings" (ages 13-18) and "Fledglings" (ages 8-12). Both camps are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Groundlings camp runs June 9-27 and costs $600, while Fledglings Camp runs June 16-27 and costs $400. There is a 10 percent military discount for both.

The camps will culminate in a production of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," directed by guest teaching artist Kat Wodtke. Performances will be June 27, 28 and 29 in the UAF Lab Theater and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
