The Science for Alaska Lecture Series, Jan. 20–Feb. 24, will bring current scientific research to the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community.
The lectures will be held in the Westmark ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Hotel Gold Room on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
This year's series includes the following lectures:
- Jan. 20, "Weird Stuff You Ought to Know About Snow," by Matthew Sturm.
- Jan. 27, "The Next Big Earthquake," by Michael West.
- Feb. 3, "Polar Adventures: The Voyages of the Research Vessel Sikuliaq," by Michael Castellini.
- Feb. 10 "Flying Robots! How Drones are Revolutionizing Science in Alaska," by Sean Barberie.
- Feb. 17 "Weather Satellites and Alaska," by Eric Stevens.
- Feb. 24 "Changing Relationships Among Alaska Hunters, Wildlife and Habitat," by Todd Brinkman.
