Salmon canning class offered in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø

A four-hour workshop on how to can salmon safely with a pressure canner will be offered Oct. 14 in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Cooperative Extension Service will host the workshop for beginning or advanced food preservers. ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø agent Leslie Shallcross will teach the hands-on class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Harper Building, at 4180 Geist Road.

Shallcross will describe the U.S. Department of Agriculture-recommended processes for canning salmon in jars. Participants will jar salmon and take home a jar of processed fish. Extension will provide all the supplies and the salmon.
