Museum offers Native graves repatriation workshop

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is coordinating a community workshop and discussion about the federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in downtown ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

This informal presentation features several panelists from the museum as well as NAGPRA expert Claudia Nissley. Josh Reuther, the museum’s curator of archaeology, will facilitate.

There will be a chance to ask questions about the law and how the process works.
